Its horizontal panels and framing make this the best option for warmer areas that experience very little precipitation.
• Vertical Roofs – Vertical roofs are also A-frame styles, similar to the boxed-eave option. This roofing system is the most durable and top-selling option offered at Carport Direct. Certify Your Prefab Carport

Depending on the weather conditions in your area, you may need to have your custom carport certified. A certified structure is one that has been designed and engineered to meet local or state building codes as well as wind and snow load ratings. Compared to those without certifications, a certified unit is much stronger and can withstand harsher weather elements. If you choose to certify your carport, it will be built with 12-gauge steel framing. 12-gauge framing has diameter of 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” and is the strongest, thickest framing option available. We also offer a 14-gauge steel framing; however, it has a diameter of 2 ½” x 2 ½” and because it is thinner than 12-gauge, it is easier to work with.

The wind rating and snow load that your structure will need to be certified for will depend greatly on the conditions of your area. For example, areas that experience heavy snowfalls in the winter will need to be certified for a higher snow load, while areas prone to high winds will need to have a higher wind rating.
